Providence Hospitality signs Management Agreement with Trail’s End Bike Hotel in Grabouw

01 April, 2020

Nestled within the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve (KBR) less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town and is one of the Western Cape’s best kept secrets – Trial’s End Bike Hotel. Offering flexible accommodation throughout the 16 bedrooms, the hotel is accompanied by an all-day dine restaurant and bar serving simply styled dishes. The facilities boasts a multi-purpose meeting and events space, perfectly suited for events and product launches. The hotel offers a wide range of outdoor activities from bike and running trails to specially tailored eco-adventures in and around the valley.

“We are delighted to welcome the Trail’s End Bike Hotel to the Providence family. The property has been meticulously developed and curated over the past five years and has the potential to be a real trend setter within the eco-hospitality space. Providence has stepped into the business to assist the owners in positioning the hotel and its facilities within the ever-growing Cape, SA and global eco-tourism landscape and also the growth of their business going forward,” comments Providence Hospitality’s Head of Business Development, Neil Hughes.

The KBR begins in the Atlantic Ocean, 7.5km off a rugged, rocky shore interspersed by glorious, golden sandy beaches. A zig-zag ribbon of narrow coastal plain is squeezed between the ocean and huge sandstone mountains. These mountains and highland valleys are home to over 1,880 different species of plants of which 77 are endemic – the Amazon rain-forest has just 420 species per 10,000 square kilometers and the whole of the UK has just 22 endemic species.

Owners of the hotel Pieter and Brenda Silberbauer explain, “Trail’s End is a truly magnificent destination and something that South Africans and foreigners need to experience. We have been developing the many eco-centric activities together with our local community as part of an Elgin Valley wide social improvement project with other local businesses and in this age of the so called fourth industrial revolution, we need to encourage fellow citizens to embrace the great outdoors once again and become more active.” They add that ”Providence Hospitality has been brought in to assist us in the evolution of our business and we look forward to seeing what the next exciting chapters will hold in store for us.”

“Once we’ve flattened the curve, we call on South Africans to come for a weekend away, corporate weekday event and team build or family retreat. Come enjoy the amazing facilities, an abundance of fresh air and the great outdoors within the KBR biosphere,” concludes Hughes.
